Sit Stand height adjustable desks allow office and home workers to enjoy the ergonomic and health benefits of both sitting and standing while they work.

Using a Sit Stand desk promotes good blood circulation, prevents problems associated with prolonged sitting and can result in increased alertness and activity levels. It also helps fight fatigue making it easier to focus on work tasks, improving focus, mood, and productivity levels.

Sit/stand desks (also known as standing desks or height-adjustable desks) offer several ergonomic, health, and productivity advantages. Here’s a breakdown of the key benefits:

Health Benefits:

  • Reduces Risk of Chronic Diseases
  • Prolonged sitting is linked to higher risks of heart disease, diabetes, and some cancers. Alternating between sitting and standing can help reduce these risks.
  • Improves Posture
  • Standing desks encourage better spinal alignment and reduce slouching, which helps with back and neck pain.
  • Burns More Calories
  • Standing burns slightly more calories than sitting—about 88 calories an hour compared to 80 when seated. Over time, this adds up.
  • Reduces Back and Neck Pain

Many users report decreased lower back and neck discomfort after switching to sit/stand desks.

Raise 1 standing desk

The desk mounted height adjustable unit which is simple and mobile usually the top is 800 by 400 mm in black or white.

It has several advantages being mobile and due to it using a spring loaded mechanism no power is required great if you move from desk/dining room table or work bench  possibly at work or home at a  low very low cost at around £140.

This unit is shipped in a box and usually arrives  within a few days virtually no assembly is required as it just pulls out-of-the-box there are a couple of items that need screwing on and you’re away within minutes.

Raise 2 standing desk

The single motor height adjustable desk  is an electric unit which gas a simple button mechanism usually the height starts at around 700 millimetres high and goes up to around 1100 high.

The disadvantages of this unit are that it is lower power and the weight capacity is approximately 80 kilogrammes. The motor is quiet and the control is very simple up and down. The frame is available in three colours white, silver and black

The unit arrives in a box and is very simple to assemble. If price is a major consideration to your purchase this unit is very good value without some of the frills of the much better twin motor version things to consider are that if you do want the unit for lower below 700 MMS this may not be the unit for you.

Raise 3 standing desk

This, in my opinion, is the best option: you get the reliability of two motors, one on each leg.

You get anti-collision, it has an advanced controller which gives you three slot memory and a weight capacity of 125 kilogrammes.  The height variation is 620mm up to 1200 mm so this copes with the taller or shorter person and cost wise it costs is around £400. Again it is delivered in a box and is extremely simple to assemble.

Things to remember: On both units that have the unit underneath (or undercarriage) there is one piece. The top can be different sizes as the undercarriage has a telescopic beam to support it. The top can be various sizes from 1000 millimetres up to 2000 millimetres.

In conclusion you need to look at several things when deciding on a height adjustable desk: width of top, length of top and the colours required.

Which unit fits into your budget and your requirements as always paying that little bit more sometimes is the right thing to do but if you’re unsure always give us a ring and we can talk through your usage and which is the best unit for you at the best price.
